San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Arik Armstead landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday, and he won't be the last player to do so. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via Zoom from his home today and confirmed that some close-contacts are at risk and will join Armstead on the list.

"He did have some close contacts," Shanahan said. "When we get them all, they'll be on the list, so you'll see that. I think with this being out bye week, we weren't in there anyways. So, really, all is changed was today."

Many of his teammates came into close contact with Armstead during Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints and on the plane ride back to the Bay Area. The team had planned on heading into the facility today but instead opted to work remotely after Armstead landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

"I just told the guys not to come in," Shanahan continued. "We were going to get together today and watch all of what happened on Sunday, and kind of put that game to rest. Now, we're just doing that all Zoom-wise. Then, each coach, each position is going to finish it up before we see them in person on Friday because we'll just meet them on the field on Friday.

"So yeah, he's going to have some close contacts, but we're still waiting to see who those are."

The 49ers do not play a game this weekend. They are in their bye week and will return to action on November 29 for a road game against the Los Angeles Rams.
