Seven 49ers players remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list after defensive lineman Arik Armstead and center Hroniss Grasu were removed. Head coach Kyle Shanahan expects at least some of those seven to be unavailable this weekend.
One of those players could be offensive tackle Trent Williams, who recently told ESPN that he tested positive for the virus. That is more concerning for Williams, who is a cancer survivor and considered high-risk.
"I haven't talked to him recently, but I heard the same stuff," Shanahan told reporters before practice. "He's been in communication with everyone up here. I've seen him on our Zoom meetings, but I haven't called him out in front of a whole team yet.
"I'm sure he's doing all right, but I know he's just trying to get healthy and get back as soon as he can."
The following is a list of 49ers players who are still on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- WR Brandon Aiyuk
- TE Daniel Helm
- DT D.J. Jones
- DL Javon Kinlaw
- LB Joe Walker
- T Trent Williams
- DE Jordan Willis
Then you have the players returning from injuries. San Francisco opened the practice windows for both Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.
"I'm really hoping that we'll get Deebo and Raheem back and Jeff Wilson and Sherm this week," Shanahan said, "but they haven't played in a while, so we've got to be smart with them."
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
