According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, an MRI on Monday revealed that the defensive back indeed suffered a torn ACL, ending his season.
Taylor suffered the left knee injury late in the first half of the team's 23-20 victory. He appeared to be in significant pain and needed to be carted off the field to the SoFi Stadium locker room for further evaluation.
Taylor becomes the fourth 49ers player this year to see his season end due to an ACL injury. Wide receiver Jalen Hurd suffered the injury during training camp and defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas during Week 2.
"He's been fantastic," defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said of Taylor earlier this month. "He is a veteran. He is a pro. He is incredibly smart. He's very deliberate in the way he works and he practices, and that's why he has the success he has."
Taylor finishes the season with 22 tackles, two tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, a sack, two interceptions, and three passes defensed through eight game appearances.
