San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert won't play again this season, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. He will land on injured reserve.
Mostert re-aggravated his ankle injury during Sunday's 41-33 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and was one of several players to leave the game and not return. Shanahan said that the 49ers are shutting down the running back, who missed time earlier this season due to a high-ankle sprain, for these final two games of the season.
Mostert has 521 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on 104 carries through eight games this season. He also has 16 receptions for 156 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Other players who did not return to the game after sustaining injuries were safety Jimmie Ward (concussion) and defensive end Dion Jordan (knee).
