San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Kerry Hyder got to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray in the second quarter of Saturday's game, which gives him 8.5 total sacks on the season — a new career-high.

The mark surpasses the eight sacks he racked up in 2016 with the Detroit Lions when he played on a defensive line coached by Kris Kocurek, who is now his defensive line coach with the 49ers.

"The only goal I had was to kind of garner some respect amongst the league," Hyder recently said when asked about his goals entering the season. "I never had a number goal or anything like that. So, I think I'm able to start and play games. I think I'm able to do that, so that's probably the only goal I had."

Hyder has started 12 of his 14 game appearances with the 49ers this season and entered Saturday's game with 46 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, and 17 quarterbacks hits.

San Francisco signed Hyder to a one-year deal on March 25.
