Many are speculating that the San Francisco 49ers might be in the market for a rookie quarterback. While both head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have backed Jimmy Garoppolo as the team's starter next season, there remains a chance that plans might change or someone could be brought in to groom behind the veteran.
Garoppolo is the only quarterback the 49ers have under contract heading into the 2021 season.
Through three seasons with the Cougars, Wilson has thrown for 7,652 yards with 56 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. That includes completing 73.5 percent of his passes for 3,692 yards with 33 touchdowns and just three interceptions this past season while guiding BYU to an 11-1 record.
The 49ers probably won't be drafting high enough to select Wilson, though.
Trask set single-season records for the Gators in 2020, including 4,283 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. He tossed just eight interceptions this season. Three of them came during Florida's 55-20 loss to Oklahoma in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl on Wednesday night.
Through three seasons, Trask has passed for 7,386 yards with 69 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
H/t to Kyle Madson of Niners Wire for the find.
