Bosa was impressive in that Super Bowl a year ago. So impressive that the outing was named among the 10 most notable Super Bowl performances of the Pro Football Focus era, which spans the past 15 years.
"Although the 49ers ultimately fell to the Chiefs, Bosa still recorded one of the most dominant defensive outings we have ever seen," wrote James Fragoza of Pro Football Focus. "The rookie lived in the Chiefs' backfield, generating a whopping 12 QB pressures — most in a Super Bowl — that included one QB hit and one sack. Here's hoping the 49ers star returns better than ever next season."
Bosa racked up 47 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, 25 quarterback hits, two passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble in 2019. He added four more sacks in the playoffs, increasing his rookie total to 13.
"I have every reason to believe, Nick Bosa, the way he works, the way his body is made, he'll be the exact same guy next year," an optimistic head coach Kyle Shanahan said in December.
