Frank Gore just finished the 16th year of his Hall of Fame-worthy NFL career. His 16,000 rushing yards rank No. 3 all-time, with only Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton ahead of him. Many wonder if Gore's illustrious career will continue or if we've seen the running back on an NFL field for the last time.

Gore joined 95.7 The Game on Friday morning and was asked if he is preparing to play in 2021.

"I don't know yet," Gore responded on The Morning Roast. "I'm still going to take my time, make a decision. We'll see. I know I still can play the game. I know my team I was on last year, it was rough, but I thought when I got opportunities, I showed that I still can play. I'm still having fun out there."

What about the San Francisco 49ers? Would Gore consider a return to the team that drafted him in 2005?

"I would come back in a heartbeat ... fast," Gore said. "Man, I would love it, to wear that No. 21 jersey one more time. If that was to happen, that would definitely be my last year, if I could come back and sign with the 49ers.

"I respect Jed. I respect the York family. I respect Kyle (Shanahan). I feel like he's one of the best play-callers in the game right now.

"And I think if they didn't get a bunch of injuries, I thought they would have been right back in it, had a chance to run for it again, just because of the way the coaches call the game. And they've got some great players over there."

After a season with the New York Jets, Gore becomes an unrestricted free agent in March.

Added Gore: "You've got to tell Jed and Kyle to bring me back."
