"You'll see my progress on the field next [season]," Bosa told Anderson via a phone conversation. "Tell them I'm gonna be better."
That is certainly encouraging. The only real update we've had on Bosa are rehab videos posted by Motus Specialists Physical Therapy on social media.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said in December that he was optimistic about Bosa's recovery.
"I have every reason to believe, Nick Bosa, the way he works, the way his body is made, he'll be the exact same guy next year," Shanahan told reporters.
The surgeon who repaired the damage — Dr. Neal ElAttrache — in the knees of both Bosa and teammate Solomon Thomas, who suffered an ACL injury two plays after Bosa, was also optimistic about both players' progress.
"They weren't just straight-forward, isolated ACL injuries," ElAttrache told The Athletic earlier this month. "These were bigger injuries. But they're both ahead of where ordinarily we'd expect them to be. And so they're both going through their initial stages of functional performance training. So it's looking very promising for both of those guys."
A fan asked Anderson if a player has ever had a "monster" season coming off a serious knee injury. She pointed back to a future Hall-of-Fame running back who was named the league MVP a year after suffering a torn ACL and MCL — Adrian Peterson.
"So yes, Nick Bosa can absolutely do it," responded Anderson. "But much like Peterson, it will depend upon the quality of Bosa'a rehab program and prayerfully staying healthy next season. He has the will."
