Russell Wilson isn't happy with his situation in Seattle. Earlier this month, the Seahawks quarterback expressed his frustration to reporters.

"I'm frustrated with getting hit too much," Wilson said.

Michael-Shawn Dugar, Mike Sando, and Jayson Jenks of The Athletic report that the quarterback has discussed those frustrations with team decision-makers multiple times and even offered up ideas to fix the situation. Those suggestions were reportedly dismissed, leaving Wilson more frustrated with the organization.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports first reported Wilson's growing discontent, naming several potential trade destinations.

"[Wilson and Carroll] have made the playoffs every season but one, won a Super Bowl and lost another," wrote the trio of The Athletic. "But the Seahawks haven't reached the NFC Championship game since 2014, and Wilson's frustration has escalated to the point that his camp has broached potential trade destinations with the Seahawks. According to sources, those teams include ones mentioned in La Canfora's column the day of the Super Bowl: the Dolphins, Jets, Saints and Raiders. Some people around the league think a trade could happen, if not this offseason then sometime in the near future."

A trade of the NFC West's best quarterback would dramatically change the division's landscape. Wilson's potential departure would remove a significant obstacle in the NFC West for the San Francisco 49ers.

Wilson is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league and has frustrated 49ers defenses during his career. Another team's cost to acquire him would be hefty, though, and there is no evidence yet that it will come to that. For now, all we have is another frustrated quarterback — like Deshaun Watson in Houston — who is seeking a chance to have more say when it comes to his legacy.

Added The Athletic: "Asked if Wilson will be the Seahawks' quarterback in 2021, a source close to the quarterback answered with just two words. 'Good question …'"

It's a situation worth monitoring.

Update: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that, per Wilson's agent, the quarterback has not demanded a trade. He has, however, informed Seattle that the only destinations he would go to are the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, and Chicago Bears, if a trade were considered.
