According to figures posted to OverTheCap.com and Spotrac.com, Ebukam's two-year, $12 million deal brings a signing bonus of $3.5 million, with $5 million guaranteed at signing. He's slated for a guaranteed base salary of $1.5 million in 2021 with a cap number of $3.75 million and a dead cap figure of $5 million.
Ebukam's base salary jumps up to $5.9 million (with zero base salary guarantees) in 2022, giving him a cap number of $8.25 million. The 49ers can save $6.5 million in cap space if they eventually wanted to get out of the second year of the deal, with $1.75 million in dead money.
Also in Ebukam's contract is $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses in 2021 and 2022 ($31,250 per game) and a workout bonus of $100,000 in 2022. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports Ebukam will also have a sacks incentive and an annual $750,000 bonus for making the Pro Bowl.
Ebukam, 25, had 150 tackles, 14 sacks, and one interception in four seasons with the Rams after being selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Free agents can officially sign with new teams once the 2021 NFL league year begins (1 p.m. PT, Wednesday).
