Five San Francisco 49ers players earned performance-based bonuses, per a report from NBC Sports Bay Area. They include linebackers Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw, and defensive backs Jason Verrett and Tarvarius Moore. One offensive lineman, Daniel Brunskill, also earned the additional pay.

Matt Maiocco has the breakdown of how much each earned via the performance-based bonuses.

The performance-based pay program is a collectively-bargained benefit that compensates all players, including rookies, based upon their playing time and salary levels. The money comes from a fund created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation.

Players become eligible for the additional payout in any regular season in which they play at least one official snap. Those with lower salaries who vastly outperformed their pay benefit most from the pool.

Brunskill was an exclusive-rights free agent heading into the offseason, while Verrett was an unrestricted free agent. San Francisco re-signed both players to one-year deals.
