The 49ers acquired the No. 3 overall selection via a March 26 trade with the Miami Dolphins, surrendering their own first-rounder in each of the next three drafts and a third-rounder next year.
San Francisco received its third-round compensatory pick via the NFL's minority-hiring program after the New York Jets hired former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. San Francisco sent its own third-round pick to Washington last year in the trade for offensive tackle Trent Williams.
The loss of wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders last year resulted in the fifth-round compensatory pick.
San Francisco received a fifth-round pick from the New Orleans Saints as part of the trade of linebacker Kwon Alexander and a seventh-round pick from the New York Jets as part of the trade for defensive end Jordan Willis.
The 49ers lost their seventh-round pick due to the Marquise Goodwin trade.
