Tartt, who recently re-signed with the 49ers on a one-year deal, is among 32 current and former players slated to announce their team's selections on the second day of this year's draft. Other current players scheduled to participate include defensive end Myles Garrett (Browns), defensive back Byron Jones (Dolphins), linebacker Demario Davis (Saints), defensive lineman Rashan Gary (Packers), and wide receiver Darius Slayton (Giants). Among the former players expected to participate are seven Pro Football Hall of Famers in Joe DeLamiellure (Bills), Anthony Munoz (Bengals), Drew Pearson (Cowboys), Will Shields (Chiefs), Orlando Pace (Rams), John Randle (Vikings) and Franco Harris (Steelers). The 49ers currently have the 11th pick (43rd overall) in the second round as well as the fourth-to-last pick (102 overall) in Round 3.
90 players in total are expected to take part in the draft, including 13 in-person draft prospects and 45 prospects expected to participate remotely. The 13 players slated to attend the draft in person include 49ers quarterback candidates Mac Jones (Alabama) and Trey Lance (North Dakota State), as well as defensive lineman Christian Barmore (Alabama), wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (LSU), cornerback Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech), linebacker Micah Parsons (Penn State), tight end Kyle Pitts (Florida), defensive lineman Gregory Rousseau (Miami-Fla.), offensive lineman Rashawn Slater (Northwestern), wide receiver Devonta Smith (Alabama), cornerback Patrick Surtain II (Alabama), wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (Alabama), and quarterback Zach Wilson (BYU).
49ers quarterback candidate Justin Fields (Ohio State) is among those listed as a remote participant, as is expected first overall pick quarterback Trevor Lawrence (Clemson). Other notable remote participants include offensive lineman Penei Sewell (Oregon), cornerback Jaycee Horn (South Carolina), defensive end Kwity Paye (Michigan), and running back Najee Harris (Alabama).
The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft gets underway at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. ET on April 29, while selections for rounds two and three will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on April 30. Day 3 selections (Rounds 4 through 7) begin at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT on May 1.
