The San Francisco 49ers released a 60-second video commemorating the team's 75th anniversary on Sunday night, which is the latest in what will likely be a number of ways the team celebrates its anniversary throughout 2021.

The video is a compilation of highlights and memorable moments that includes former 49ers players such as Joe Montana, Dwight Clark, Steve Young, Jimmy Johnson, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Colin Kaepernick, Navorro Bowman, and George Kittle. The video also contains the team's 75th-anniversary logo, which will be worn as a uniform patch throughout the season.

A link on the tweet that contains the video opens up to a 75th-anniversary section on the team's website that takes an up-close look at the patch as well as a variety of features and a link to the team's 75th-anniversary merchandise.

"Founded in 1946, the San Francisco 49ers are the oldest professional sports team in the Bay Area," the site says. "Over the past seven and a half decades, the 49ers have provided countless unforgettable plays, five Lombardi Trophies, and a G.O.A.T.

"To celebrate our diamond anniversary, we'll honor the past 75 years and lay the foundation for the next 75. The past shaped who we are, but the future is where we're going."

No word yet on whether throwback uniforms are on the way, as has previously been speculated. But it's still very early in 2021, and there will most likely be more 75th-anniversary announcements still to come.
