Lynch shared some interesting numbers before taking questions from reporters. Obviously, this year's pre-draft process, like last year's, is different from the typical offseason due to the ongoing pandemic. Still, the 49ers have been very busy.
Here are just a few of the numbers that Lynch shared during Monday's Zoom call.
- The 49ers attended 176 games and practices despite travel restrictions due to COVID-19.
- The 49ers "essentially" saw every player of note who didn't opt-out of the 2020 collegiate season.
- The 49ers took part in nearly 400 Zoom calls with schools. They also made "countless" calls and texts to gain background information.
- The 49ers interviewed nearly 600 draft prospects via Zoom or phone.
- The 49ers covered 128 separate pro days.
- The 49ers have roughly 168 draftable players on their draft board.
- The 49ers gave physicals to 150 prospects — the maximum number allowed this year. The number was reduced from 350 due to the pandemic.
"It's been a collective effort," Lynch said. "We're prepared. We're ready. Looking forward to finishing our preparation, and looking very forward to a great opportunity to get better for the 49ers, come Thursday night."
