Most assumed that quarterback Trey Lance would don a No. 5 jersey with his new team, the San Francisco 49ers. After all, it was the jersey number he wore at North Dakota State.

The Niners made it official on Friday with the tweet below. It features the team's equipment manager putting together the rookie's jersey, complete with the team's 75th-anniversary patch.

Signage around Levi's Stadium had already shown a mocked-up photo of Lance in a No. 5 49ers jersey, so the video above just adds to that.

Lance's last full season came in 2019 when he completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 2,786 yards with 28 passing touchdowns and no interceptions through 16 games as a sophomore while adding 1,100 rushing yards with 14 rushing touchdowns.

On Thursday night, San Francisco made Lance the No. 3 overall pick.
