Add San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley to the list of players who plan to don a different jersey number during the 2021 season. He is dropping a digit and moving from No. 41 to No. 4.

"Had to cut 1 off but I'll never forget," Moseley wrote via Instagram (h/t to Patrick Tulini for the find).

He will join his fellow defensive backs, Jaquiski Tartt and Jason Verrett, in changing numbers. Tartt is switching from No. 29 to No. 26. Verrett is moving from No. 22 to No. 2.

On April 21, the NFL approved a proposal that relaxes the jersey number rules of certain position groups, opening the door for wide receivers, defensive backs, and some others to wear single-digit numbers. Moseley and Verrett are taking advantage of the relaxed rules.

San Francisco signed Moseley as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2018. He registered 47 tackles, nine passes defensed, and an interception through 12 games last season, per Pro Football Reference.

Moseley, 25, has recorded 98 tackles, 17 passes defensed, and two interceptions through his three NFL seasons.
