The Washington Football Team has signed former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Joe Walker, per Ben Standig of The Athletic. Washington's general manager, Martin Mayhew, spent the past four years as an executive with the 49ers, serving the past two years as a VP of player personnel with the team.

The Philadelphia Eagles made Walker a seventh-round selection out of Oregon in 2016. The linebacker registered six tackles through 12 games with the 49ers in 2020, his only season with the team. Walker's best season came in 2019 when he racked up 65 tackles, five tackles for a loss, a quarterback hit, and a forced fumble through 16 games with Arizona, per Pro Football Reference.

Walker, 28, has recorded 88 tackles, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble through his four NFL seasons.
