Banks, a 6'5, 325 pound guard out of Notre Dame, was made a second round selection by John Lynch and the 49ers, as the team took him 48th overall in the Draft this past May.
During the previously released phone call between Banks and Lynch, yells and screams were heard in the background. But in the new video, directly from Banks' friends and family, everyone can see the full emotional reaction during the moment.
Banks was also the first member of the 49er draft class who signed with the team this offseason.
The four-year deal is worth $7.074 million total, which includes a $2.5 million signing bonus and a cap hit of $1.29 million for 2021.
Banks was born in Alameda, California, and attended El Cerrito High School before going to Notre Dame, so being drafted by the 49ers means that he will be coming back home to start his NFL career.
When asked about the transition to the NFL during rookie camp, Banks noted that the familiarity with the area and the close proximity has made his life easier.
"It's definitely made the transition very easy," Banks told reporters on Friday. "I didn't have to travel very far. After the draft I just came down the road, so that was really nice."
Banks' next stop will be training camp, during which he will have a chance to secure a starting spot on the offensive line.
