The intruder reportedly fought with police upon their arrival but was eventually apprehended and later booked into the Seattle Correctional Facility. Sherman's wife, Ashley, told the Seattle Times that both she and the couple's kids are fine and that no one was harmed during the incident. The family is just working to get Sherman released.
"He's a good person and this is not his character," she added.

Schefter later reported that Sherman is also being investigated in connection to a hit and run, resulting in damage to state Department of Transportation property about an hour before the previously reported incident.
The driver was able to leave the vehicle and abandoned it in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle is reportedly registered to Sherman. Washington State Patrol Captain Ron Mead said the vehicle could no longer be driven.
According to The Athletic, authorities are recommending additional charges of DUI and hit-and-run against Sherman.
"We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved," said the NFL Players Association via a statement. "We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us."
Sherman, who played the last three seasons with the 49ers, is currently a free agent. The NFL told the Washington Post that free agents are free to sign with any team but that the league investigates any incident involving law enforcement. If there is a violation of the personal conduct policy, the player will face discipline.
