Richard Sherman
Former 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested this week following a 'burglary domestic violence' incident and was booked at the Seattle Correctional Facility after being apprehended.
Following his arrest, a disturbing video was released in which Sherman is seen apparently banging on the door of his in-laws' house and repeatedly shouting.
In addition, Sherman is being investigated in connection to a hit-and-run and police are recommending additional charges of DUI and hit and run against him, per a police spokesman.
After facing a judge concerning the charges, Sherman was released without bail.
Having played in San Francisco for the past three seasons, Sherman did not rule out a return to the 49ers earlier this offseason, while acknowledging that he was exploring all options.
"There's always a chance it could end up working back in the Bay, and I head back that way," Sherman said in May. "That's another place I'm really comfortable going. Obviously, I know the staff, know the team well. Just spent time there and would be ecstatic if something happened there."
John Lynch
After Sherman was apprehended this week, Lynch offered his support to both Sherman and his wife.
"More than anything, just praying for them," Lynch said via Matt Maiocco. "They're good people. Just praying that they find their way through this, and we'll support them any way we can."
In addition, Lynch talked with reporters this week as a part of his Pro Football Hall of Fame media availability. He is scheduled to be inducted next month in Canton, Ohio as a part of the Class of 2021.
During the media session, Lynch spoke about what attracted him to the 49ers and how Mike Shanahan impacted his foundation for the franchise.
"I think a lot of what Mike believes in goes back to Bill Walsh on how you run an organization, doing things first class," Lynch explained. "So much of the foundation of how he ran it were things that he picked up coaching for the Niners. And so, inherently, I think that's kind of what drew me to the Niners, this idea of a place that had multiple championships, but there was a blueprint as to how you go about it.
Come back next week for the 49ers weekly recap.
