The San Francisco 49ers held their first of 13 scheduled training camp practices. Below are some practice notes from various media sources.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after practice that the 49ers are being careful with defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who underwent a clean-up procedure in his knee after last season and, more recently, a minor procedure to reduce swelling. He did not participate in team drills today, and the team will continue to ease him into on-field work.

Nick Bosa, who missed most of last season due to a torn ACL, looks leaner. The pass rusher was seen wearing a black sleeve/wrap over his left knee. (The Athletic)

Bosa warmed up with his teammates.

He also took part in individual drills but did not participate in team drills.

Trey Lance joined his teammates on the practice field just hours after officially signing his rookie contract. For anyone still concerned about any awkwardness between starter Jimmy Garoppolo and his eventual successor, the two were seen joking with each other before practice started. (The Athletic)

Lance's first pass of team drills went off of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's hands on a short route in the middle of the field. The quarterback later showed off his mobility with a pass to tight end MyCole Pruitt.

Lance also impressed with a 40-yard pass to Deebo Samuel in stride while the receiver was going against cornerback Dontae Johnson during team drills. Tight end George Kittle hauled in a 30-yard pass from Lance along the sideline while going against safety Kai Nacua. (Bay Area News Group)

Third-year wide receiver Jalen Hurd, who spent the last two seasons on injured reserve, participated in individual drills. He did not participate in team drills.

Pass rusher Dee Ford, who appeared in just one game last season before suffering neck and back injuries, was on the practice field with his teammates for individual drills. He did not participate in team drills. The 49ers will continue to take a cautious approach with any ramp-up in Ford's workload, said Shanahan.

Those hoping for Aiyuk to have a breakout season will be pleased to hear that he reportedly looked good in practice. The second-year receiver made "catches all over the place," per one report. (Sacramento Bee)

Veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu looked as impressive as he did during organized team activities. He received praise from Shanahan and his teammates after practice. (KNBR)

Daniel Brunskill got the first-team reps at right guard while rookie Aaron Banks worked with the second team. (The Athletic)
