The San Francisco 49ers have announced that running back Raheem Mostert and cornerback Jason Verrett have been placed on injured reserve. Both will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.

Mostert and Verrett were injured during Sunday's win against the Detroit Lions. Mostert suffered a knee injury. While he was initially expected to miss about eight weeks, the running back announced today that he would undergo season-ending surgery on what is reported to be a torn meniscus.

Verrett suffered a torn ACL and lands on injured reserve for the sixth time in eight seasons.

These are devastating injuries to two players who were expected to be significant contributors this season. Mostert and Verrett are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents after the season.
