Quick Takeaways
Jimmy Garoppolo earned an overall grade of 62.5, a drop from his 71.2 overall grade a week earlier. The quarterback finished the game 22-of-30 for 189 yards and a passing touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown on a quarterback sneak. Rookie Trey Lance did not play.
The offensive line performed better as a whole when it comes to Pro Football Focus grades. That includes right tackle Mike McGlinchey, whose 70.3 overall grade was much improved over his 51.0 grade in Week 1.
Wide receiver Jauan Jennings played just six snaps but hauled in his first career touchdown on his first career reception. That helped his overall grade.
Defensive lineman Arik Armstead continues to put together a nice season for himself, as does D.J. Jones.
Rookie cornerback Deommodore Lenoir saw a jump from a 56.8 overall grade in Week 1 to a 76.2 grade against the Eagles. He could turn out to be the 49ers' best value pick of the draft.
After earning praise from general manager John Lynch and defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and a respectable 61.0 overall grade for his Week 1 performance, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair's grade plummeted to 29.3 in Week 2. Only Eagles defensive end Tarron Jackson earned a lower overall grade (28.0) in the game.
