The San Francisco 49ers have activated cornerback Davontae Harris from injured reserve. To make room on the roster, the team has released cornerback Buster Skrine.

News of the moves was first announced by ESPN's Field Yates and comes via the league's transaction wire.

Harris landed on injured reserve on September 1 due to a hamstring injury. San Francisco opened his practice window on September 29, the same day the team announced the signing of Skrine.

The 49ers initially claimed Harris (5-11, 200) off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on August 17. The Cincinnati Bengals made the defensive back a fifth-round selection out of Illinois State in 2018. He registered 14 tackles, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble through 11 games between the Ravens and Denver Broncos last season.

The 26-year-old has recorded 50 tackles, four passes defensed, and a forced fumble through his three NFL seasons.
