Would the San Francisco 49ers be interested in Odell Beckham Jr. should the Cleveland Browns release the three-time Pro Bowl receiver? Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk appears to believe so.

Florio went through the exercise of speculating which teams might pursue Beckham should he become available.

"The Saints did indeed talk to the Browns about a possible trade, and multiple sources believe that the Saints will try to sign him if/when he becomes available," wrote Florio. "Other teams to watch, we're told, are the 49ers and the Seahawks."

The Pro Football Talk writer doesn't specify the source or sources telling him that information. It's unclear if it is other members of the media that believe the 49ers might be interested or NFL sources.

San Francisco expressed interest in Beckham during the 2019 offseason, but the 49ers and New York Giants couldn't agree on the compensation. New York ended up sending the receiver to the Browns on March 12, 2019. The move became official the next day.

"We definitely looked into the Odell thing," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said in April of 2019. "John had been working on that for a few months, trying to see if something could happen. I just didn't think we had the stuff that [the Giants] wanted. It didn't work out."

Florio also speculates that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Rams could also express interest in Beckham.

Beckham, 28, has registered 17 receptions for 232 yards through six games with the Browns this season. He has caught 504 passes for 7,062 yards with 51 touchdowns in 88 game appearances (84 starts) through his eight NFL seasons.
