"We're probably going to have to push it off another week," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters before today's practice.
Greenlaw had core muscle surgery after Week 1 and landed on injured reserve on September 18.
"Dre's looking really good," linebacker Fred Warner said this week during a radio interview. "Obviously, I don't know when [he'll return]. The trainers and all those people are handling that kind of stuff. He says he feels great. He looks great. He's battled his tail off to try to get back. I mean, he misses it so much. He talks about how hard it is to watch us on Sunday because all he wants to do is be out there with his boys and help contribute."
Shanahan provided several other injury updates ahead of the team's first full practice of the week.
The following players will not participate today.
- DL Maurice Hurst, calf
- S Jimmie Ward, quad
- RB JaMycal Hasty, ankle
- WR Mohamed Sanu, knee
- S Tavon Wilson, foot
- CB Dre Kirkpatrick, ankle
The following players will be limited.
- RB Elijah Mitchell, ribs
- TE George Kittle, calf
- DE Arik Armstead, neck
- CB Emmanuel Moseley, neck
- CB Josh Norman, rib
Shanahan added that Moseley's injury from the team's Week 9 contest against the Arizona Cardinals is bothering him this week.
"It's hurting now from the game, but he should be alright," Shanahan said. "Got to be careful with him today."
Safety Jimmie Ward could return to practice on Friday. Shanahan noted, "He just can't today."
