Star linebacker Fred Warner is returning to the practice field on Wednesday after missing Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring strain. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has sounded optimistic that Warner would be available for this weekend's game.
"Warner is full-go," Shanahan said of his linebacker's practice status. "Marcell [Harris] is full-go [too]."
Warner also spoke with reporters and was asked how he feels.
"One hundred percent," the linebacker responded with a smile.
The two 49ers players who suffered head injuries on Sunday—running backs Elijah Mitchell and Trenton Cannon—won't practice. They remain in the concussion protocol. Shanahan revealed that Mitchell is also dealing with a knee injury.
"I think they're calling it a knee irritation right now," Shanahan said. "We didn't have the imaging back when I talked to you guys [on Monday] but it's some stuff that makes him day-to-day."
Running back Jeff Wilson Jr., who is dealing with a knee injury, will be limited.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel won't get any work on Wednesday. However, he could return to the practice field later in the week.
"I'm hoping he'll practice tomorrow," Shanahan said before adding that he hopes defensive end Dee Ford can practice on Thursday too.
Earlier this week, Shanahan said that cornerback Emmanuel Moseley would miss "several weeks" due to a high-ankle sprain. Obviously, he will not practice for a while.
