"[That's] why you gotta let the silent tape do the talking," wrote Tartt.
Tartt briefly left the fourth quarter of the game due to an ankle sprain. He returned, though, and head coach Kyle Shanahan labeled the safety as "day-to-day" as the 49ers prepare for Thursday night's game against the Tennessee Titans.
"With his ankle, I know we've got him as day-to-day, but he was able to come back in the game and finish," Shanahan told reporters on Monday morning. "So I would be surprised if he wasn't good to go on Thursday."
Tartt made his presence known late in the game, directly impacting at least two plays during a touchdown-saving series by the 49ers defense. First, the safety hit Matt Ryan at the goal line, preventing the Falcons quarterback from getting into the end zone. Then, he was in the vicinity of Christian Blake, laying a hit on the Falcons wide receiver in a failed catch attempt of a Ryan pass.
"I thought Tartt had a real good game," Shanahan shared. "The only negative play he had, I thought, was that tackle on third-and-six."
That play that Shanahan refers to was the one below, which came in the first quarter on a run by Mike Davis, a 2015 fourth-round draft pick by the 49ers who arrived in Atlanta this season by way of the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, and Carolina Panthers.
"But he brought it on the guy just like he did versus Cincinnati," Shanahan continued. "He just needs to wrap up a little bit better, but I thought he was everywhere and had one of his better games this year."
