Tomlinson has started every game since Week 2 in 2017, the year San Francisco shipped a fifth-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions for the former No. 28 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He'll likely earn a nice payday in the coming months.
That isn't on his mind right now, though. Instead, Tomlinson and the 49ers are focused on making the playoffs. To do that, they have to pull off another regular-season sweep of the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
This week, 95.7 The Game's Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto asked Tomlinson if he has had any discussions with 49ers brass about his future with the team.
"No, not really," Tomlinson admitted. "I'm kind of not really thinking about it at this point. I just try to focus on giving the fans what they deserve, and that's a Super Bowl. I really believe, [from] the bottom of my heart, that this team is very special, and I want to be a part of that special team.
"So I'm going to continue to do everything that I've been doing in these last five years and give the team the best chance of winning on Sundays, and that's all I can do."
The 49ers and the Rams have a lot to play for in the regular-season finale. If the Niners win, They are in the playoffs. A loss, and they will need the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New Orleans Saints. However, Los Angeles can win the NFC West title with a win on Sunday.
The 49ers have won five straight against the Rams, with their last loss on December 30, 2018.
"You can thank Kyle Shanahan for that," Tomlinson said. "The scheme that he draws up against those guys, it's been great. And the guys we've got, going out there every time we play against them, just been able to make plays. Over the years, it's just been working really well, and we look to continue that this weekend."
