The 49ers enter the postseason following a dramatic 27-24 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18. The team finished with a 10-7 regular-season record. The 49ers overcame a deficit of 17-or-more points for the fourth time in the last 30 years and the first time since they erased a 20-point deficit at the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. WR Deebo Samuel hauled in four catches for 95 yards, adding eight carries for 45 yards and one touchdown on the ground. He also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to WR Jauan Jennings. Jennings registered career highs with six receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns, while WR Brandon Aiyuk finished with six catches for a team-leading 107 receiving yards.
Defensively, DL Arik Armstead racked up seven tackles and a career-high 2.5 sacks on the day. DL D.J. Jones added 1.0 sack, with DL Nick Bosa, DL Arden Key, and LB Fred Warner each adding 0.5 sack. CB Emmanuel Moseley and CB Ambry Thomas intercepted Rams QB Matthew Stafford, with Thomas sealing the win for the 49ers in overtime.
K Robbie Gould connected on two field-goal attempts, including a 24-yarder in overtime. He also punted twice because Mitch Wishnowsky left the game with a concussion. Gould finished with an average of 45.0 yards per punt, including one downed inside the 20-yard line.
