Samuel responded to several questions during the media session. Below are some of the more noteworthy.
Has the newfound fame affected the 49ers wide back?
"It don't affect me at all," Samuel said. "I just worry about this team, winning, and all the guys that's around. I don't pay attention to all the outside noise that's kind of thrown at your face. But it's not hard to block it out and just focus on the things that really matter."
Kyle Shanahan trusting him when he asked for the football against the Cowboys—and then scoring
"I appreciate that a lot," Samuel said. "It kind of shows the trust that we have in each other, not only having conversations about ball, just about everything in general. I just think he felt the kind of energy that I was giving him. And he was like, 'Alright, let's just see how it goes,' and it ended up being a touchdown."
The keys to going against the Packers defense
"This year, they get a lot of turnovers," Samuel said. "I know for us to win the game, we have to protect the ball, and just be physical, and just continue to do the things that we've been doing."
Any thoughts on playing at a historic stadium like Lambeau Field?
"Me? No, not really," Samuel said. "Wes Welker was kind of telling me how loud and stuff it's going to be. But my focus is this team, and how we're preparing all week to go over there, and play a physical game, and try to come out with the win."
How his body feels after such a long and physical season
"My body be hurting early on during the week," Samuel said. "But once you get to running around and doing all the things that you need to do to get your body back right, your body starts to feel the best it can be at this point. But Week 1 is the only time you'll feel 100 percent. But after that, it's going to be bumps and bruises. You're going to be sore. You're going to be hurting. But it's just the mindset that you've got to go out there and just know it's going to be hurting, and just push yourself through it."
