The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed the following 11 free agents to reserve/future contracts:

All of the players, with the exception of Hollman and Johnson, finished the 2021 season on the team's practice squad.

Seven of the players showed up on the NFL transaction wire and were reported earlier today, and Johnson's deal was reported on January 26. The previously unreported signings are Barrett, Hollman, and Matthews.

Reserve/future contracts are used to claim the rights to players. They take effect at the start of the new league year on March 16, and that's when the players begin counting against the salary cap.
