Update: Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks are trading Wilson to the Denver Broncos. This article was written before that news broke.
With Rodgers off the market, the value for a winning quarterback such as Garoppolo increases. The question is, by how much does Garoppolo's value increase? Some have speculated that 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has sought a first-round pick for the veteran quarterback. However, with Jimmy undergoing shoulder surgery, the latest reports state that the procedure wouldn't devalue Garoppolo. Teams willing to trade for the 49ers quarterback are willing to pay, but how much?
Several teams are looking to win now. These teams are currently seeking a quarterback to plug and play right away. Below is a list of teams built to win now:
The Pittsburgh Steelers are equipped with a top 10 defense and weapons on offense. They have a solid backup quarterback in Mason Rudolph, and Garoppolo could easily be plugged into the offense. The Steelers own the No. 20 overall pick, No. 52 in round two, and No. 84 in round three.
The Denver Broncos are equipped with a top defense. Rumor has it that pass rusher Von Miller may be looking to return to Denver, which would give their top defense a much-added boost. With weapons such as wide receivers Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy, tight end Noah Fant, and running back Javonte Wiliams, Garoppolo would be surrounded by talent at every level. The Broncos have a total of eleven 11 picks in the upcoming draft, with the ninth overall pick in round one.
The Washington Commanders are equipped for Garoppolo as well. With the return of edge rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat, they may have the best defense in the NFC East. They have a solid run game with running backs Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic. Terry McLaurin leads that wide receiving core which can be a great pass and catch tandem in the league. The Commanders pick at 11 in the draft, a selection that could be traded to acquire a winning quarterback like Garoppolo.
