The San Francisco 49ers were among several teams to meet with Nebraska center Cam Jurgens, per Justin Melo of The Draft Network. The others include the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers.


Melo calls Jurgens "one of the top mid-round offensive line prospects" in the 2022 NFL Draft. The offensive lineman started every game at center for the Cornhuskers in 2021.

Jurgens is from Beatrice, NE. He earned a pre-draft grade of 5.83 from NFL.com, which equates to an "average backup or special-teams player," per the site's 8-point grading scale.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-3 and 303-pound Jurgens had a 40-time of 4.92 seconds and 25 reps in the bench press. Jurgens' other measurables include an arm length of 33 3/8 inches and hands measuring 10 inches.


Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote the following about Jurgens within his scouting report:

Center prospect with a lack of desired measurables and position versatility that could cap his draft value. Jurgens is quick with above-average athleticism but needs to harness his energy and play with better control in the early stages of the rep to improve his strike zone and success rate. He's a bit of a leaner in pass protection and could struggle to find his anchor against rugged bull rushers. He can play in a variety of run schemes but has average backup talent.
