Thanks to the trade between the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles, the first-round draft landscape changed a pit. It doesn't really impact the San Francisco 49ers, though. They lack a first-round pick and don't make their first selection until No. 61 overall in the second round.

Any draft shakeup, like the one caused by the Saints and Eagles, prompts new mock drafts from nearly every media outlet. NFL.com is no different. Draft analyst Chad Reuter released the second version of his four-round mock draft. Let's look at how he predicts the 49ers addressing their offseason needs.

Round 2, Pick 61
Selection: CB Tariq Woolen, Texas-San Antonio

Reuter had the 49ers selecting edge rusher Cameron Thomas out of San Diego State in his first mock draft. He has the Bay Area team sticking to defense but addressing the cornerback spot first.


Woolen registered 25 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, an interception, and five passes defensed through nine games with the Roadrunners in 2021, per Sports Reference. He recorded 60 tackles, five tackles for a loss, two interceptions, and nine passes defensed since 2020.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6' 4 1/8" and 205-pound Woolen had a 40-time of 4.26 seconds and a vertical jump of 42 inches. Woolen's other measurables include an arm length of 33 5/8 inches and hands measuring 9 1/8 inches.

Round 3, Pick 93
Selection: Edge Christopher Allen, Alabama

While Reuter initially had the 49ers going with an edge rusher with pick No. 61 and a cornerback with pick No. 93, the positions are reversed in his latest mock draft.

Allen's senior year ended early due to a broken foot suffered in the Crimson Tide's opener. He registered 37 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, six sacks, and two forced fumbles through 11 game appearances as a junior in 2020, per Sports Reference.


Most expect the 49ers to draft a pass rusher to complement Nick Bosa. The team had hoped veteran Dee Ford would fill that role, but a back injury has kept him off the field, and general manager John Lynch stated that the defensive end's time in Santa Clara might be coming to an end.

Round 3, Pick 105
Selection: OG Marquis Hayes, Oklahoma

Reuter has the 49ers finally addressing another significant need with their first compensatory pick. The interior of the offensive line is one of the team's biggest offseason question marks following the departure of guard Laken Tomlinson and the age of center Alex Mack.

"He plays the game like a streetfighter, using length and strength to pummel overmatched opponents," wrote analyst Lance Zierlein of NFL.com. "However, he lacks the fundamentals to carry it over against pro competition."

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6' 4 7/8" and 318-pound Hayes had a 40-time of 5.3 seconds, a vertical jump of 23.5 inches, and a broad jump of 102 inches. Hayes' other measurables include an arm length of 34 7/8 inches and hands measuring 8 7/8 inches.


Round 4, Pick 134
Selection: S Smoke Monday, Auburn

Lastly, Reuter has the 49ers continuing to bolster the defensive backfield. Monday registered 63 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, two sacks, five passes defensed, an interception, and a touchdown through 13 game appearances as a senior in 2021, per Sports Reference. He recorded 171 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, six sacks, eight passes defensed, five interceptions, three touchdowns, and a forced fumble through his four collegiate seasons.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6' 1 3/4" and 207-pound Monday had a 40-time of 4.52 seconds, a broad jump of 124 inches, and completed the three-cone drill in 7 seconds. Monday's other measurables include an arm length of 32 1/2 inches and hands measuring 9 1/8 inches.
