Waugh spent 17 years in various roles with the 49ers.
Waugh isn't the only front office departure. The Minnesota Vikings have hired the 49ers' director of research and development, Demitrius Washington, to serve as their vice president of football operations.
Below is a rundown of Waugh from the 49ers Communications staff.
Waugh served as a senior player personnel coordinator for three seasons (2015-17) where he worked with all aspects of player personnel. He also spent three seasons (2012-14) as the team's senior personnel assistant. Waugh spent four seasons (2008-11) as the team's midwest regional scout.
Prior to being promoted to an area scout in 2008, Waugh served as the team's personnel assistant where he was involved in a variety of areas, including the evaluation and scouting of college and professional players and working extensively with the 49ers' scouting database.
Waugh joined the 49ers after spending the previous two seasons at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he served as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator.
Prior to his time at Illinois Wesleyan, Waugh served as an assistant at Western Carolina University from 1997-2001. While with the Catamounts, he coached on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and assisted with special teams.
