With nearly 20 defensive linemen on the roster and several star players on the team, the 49ers continue to compile a strong defensive roster, matching their top-end talent with significant depth as they look to contend in 2022.
49ers RedZone co-host Rohan Chakravarthi teamed up with John Chapman of the 49ers Rush Podcast to draft the best defensive rosters possible in a snake draft, balancing out positional value based on the 49ers' strengths and weaknesses.
Here are the final rosters:
Defensive Line
Team Rohan: Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, Hassan Ridgeway, Kemoko Turay
Team John: Drake Jackson, Javon Kinlaw, Maurice Hurst, Charles Omenihu
Linebackers
Team Rohan: Azeez Al-Shaair, Oren Burks, Jeremiah Gemmel
Team John: Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles
Cornerbacks
Team Rohan: Charvarius Ward, Emmanuel Moseley, Samuel Womack
Team John: Jason Verrett, Ambry Thomas, Darqueze Dennard
Safeties
Team Rohan: George Odum, Dontae Johnson
Team John: Talanoa Hufanga, Jimmie Ward
Despite using just one defensive roster, two entire feasible starting lineups were created, showcasing the depth on this 49ers roster, which will lead to several training camp battles all across the board.
Who ended with the better roster?
