The San Francisco 49ers have claimed guard Blake Hance off waivers, per Ari Meirov of Pro Football Focus.

The Buffalo Bills signed Hance (6-6, 310) as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern in 2019. He also spent time with the Washington Commanders (2019), Jacksonville Jaguars (2019-20), New York Jets (2020), and Cleveland Browns (2020-21). Hance appeared in all 17 games with eight starts for the Browns last season.

Some former 49ers players found new homes. The Detroit Lions signed quarterback Nate Sudfeld, the Jacksonville Jaguars added running back JaMycal Hasty, and the Washington Commanders claimed the 49ers' sixth-round pick, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields. All three were part of yesterday's roster cut-down to 53 players.
