The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

The concern surrounding George Kittle grows. The tight end missed his second consecutive practice heading into the season opener. Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network shared that, per his sources, Kittle is dealing with a Grade 2 strain, putting his availability for Sunday into question.

"One of the top tight ends in the game and well known for his toughness, Kittle wouldn't shock anyone if he opted to play through the injury," Wilson wrote. "Nonetheless, his chances of playing nearly the entire season are considered much more likely if he sits out the season opener and doesn't further aggravate the injury."

Kittle has missed 11 games over the past two seasons.
