The San Francisco 49ers improved to 1-1 after a 27-7 win against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Today, Pro Football Focus released its grades from the game. Which Niners played well, and who has more work to do?

Let's start with the quarterbacks. Trey Lance earned an overall grade of 55.3 during his 16 snaps before suffering a season-ending broken ankle. Jimmy Garoppolo replaced the second-year quarterback, completing 13 of 21 pass attempts for 154 yards and a touchdown, on his way to an overall grade of 66.5. He also had a rushing touchdown. Garoppolo will be the 49ers' starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.


Defensive end Nick Bosa earned the game's highest overall grade thanks partly to his seven pressures, two sacks, three hits, and two hurries. In addition, Bosa earned an impressive pass-rushing grade of 90.2 in the game.

Defensive end Charles Omenihu earned the second-highest defensive grade in the game. He finished with three pressures, two hits, and a hurry.

Talanoa Hufanga, the highest-graded player in the Week 1 contest between the 49ers and Chicago Bears, was also among the top defenders against the Seahawks. The second-year safety is putting together an impressive 2022 campaign. His 90.7 defensive grade ranks second among all NFL safeties (Steelers' Minkah Fitzpatrick, 90.8) through two games this season.

Guard Aaron Banks was the 49ers' fourth-highest graded offensive player in Week 1. This past weekend, he took the top spot. He allowed just one pressure, and his 81.8 pass-blocking grade was the best in the game for either team.

Tackle Trent Williams always seems to find himself among the highest-graded 49ers players, and this past weekend was no different. His run-blocking grade of 72.4 was the best among the Niners' offensive linemen.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel had 97 all-purpose yards in the game. Fifty-three came on the ground while 44 came through the air. Samuel hauled in all five of his targets.

For the second consecutive week, center Jake Brendel and fullback Kyle Juszczyk find themselves among the bottom three graded offensive players. Once again, rookie defensive end Drake Jackson was among the 49ers' lowest graded defenders.
