"[Tight end] Tyler Kroft had an MCL sprain," Shanahan said. "He'll be out a few weeks. [Rookie running back] Ty Davis-Price had a high-ankle sprain. He'll miss a few weeks also."
Shanahan added that they just learned about the injury to Davis-Price. The team will expect their other rookie running back, Jordan Mason, to step up in Davis-Price's absence.
"He needs to [step up] now," Shanahan said of Mason. "Last week was his first week getting a lot more of that, him and Ty, and I thought they both stepped it up in that area. I thought JP (Mason) had his best special teams game; did a real good job on special teams.
"Ty [suffered the injury] early in the game. He didn't know about it, and neither did we, so we never knew that he was hurt. He didn't, so he was able to go most of the game, so JP didn't get in there on offense, but he'll have to be ready this week now."
The 49ers also have running back Marlon Mack on the practice squad. The team plans to bring in running backs for workouts this week.
Shanahan noted that he's glad the team decided not to play George Kittle against the Seahawks.
"I'm glad he didn't [play] because I think he could have gotten through the game, but there was going to be a high risk of him reinjuring that," Shanahan said. "And to be able to hold that game off and still get a win, I'm very glad of the decision we made, and that should give him a much better chance to be good to go this week (in Denver)."
As for Lance, he underwent successful surgery to repair two injuries to his ankle—a fibula fracture and ligament disruption.
"Lance will start the rehab process, and head team physician Dr. Tim McAdams is confident that he will recover completely in time for a full return in the 2023 season," the 49ers announced via a statement.
Lance is confident that he will overcome this setback.
"I will be back better than ever," Lance wrote to social media following the surgery. "This chapter is going to make the story even greater!"
