Those weren't the only injuries from Sunday's 27-7 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Tight end Tyler Kroft suffered an MCL sprain and will also miss several weeks.
That prompted the 49ers to work out former North Carolina tight end Garrett Walston, who signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in May. Per Pro Football Reference, he recorded 37 catches for 439 yards and four touchdowns over the last two seasons with the Tar Heels.
The 49ers waived Walston on May 17.
The 49ers also worked out wide receiver Ra'Shaun Henry, who was released from the Carolina Panthers practice squad on September 5. Carolina initially signed Henry as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Virginia. Per Pro Football Reference, he appeared in 17 combined games for the Cavaliers in 2020 and 2021, amassing 41 receptions for 809 yards and seven touchdowns.
