Here are a few of the topics on which he touched.
What do you see in quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo?
"Having so much experience going against him, so much respect for him and his game," Hackett said. "He has an amazing release. He has the ability to get the ball out quick. He makes quick, fast decisions. I mean, he's a very good football player who's had a lot of success. I think I was at Jacksonville in 2017 when he [went to the 49ers], and he actually beat us toward the end of the season there. We were, I think, 10-and-4 or something like that, and he came out, and he had an amazing game.
"He's a good football player. He really is. He does a great job of running that system and getting that ball out."
What stands out about the 49ers defense?
"Their front seven is dynamic," Hackett responded. "I mean, the whole group is very, very good. They're very sound. They're penetrating fronts. They're dynamic. I mean, when you've got so many good electric players on the front, it's always going to cause issues. And they're playing at a very high level.
"They've been in that system now for quite a while, so they're comfortable. They know it. Take [linebacker Fred Warner]; he's spectacular. He's such a good player. And he's someone you always have to be aware of, but you have to be aware of a bunch of other guys too.
"They're very simple, but they're very effective. They understand all the different route concepts. They understand the runs they can get. And they're just able to play fast. I think they continually show that, and they make you have to be perfect every single play."
What makes Kyle Shanahan's offense so effective?
"They run the ball as good or better than anybody in the league," Hackett answered. "They have consistently done that, and it's very unique because there's shifts, there's motions. They do a great job getting the angles on you as a defense. I think that's something that Kyle takes a lot of pride in, and has continually done throughout his career, and is doing it even better now with some great players and some guys who have been in the same system for a long time. So it allows them to execute at a high level."
