(Episode 177) - Al, Zain, and Brian open up the show by talking about the positive vibes from the 49er's costly victory over the Panthers in Carolina. They talk about how dominant the win was and how good the offense was. They talk about Jimmy Garoppolo and how this is his second consecutive good game and get into the criticism he receives on the internet. They also talk about the rest of the offense, particularly Jauan Jennings and Jeff Wilson, who, along with Jimmy G, set the tone for the game with their toughness.
Next, they talk about Kyle Shanahan and how this was his best performance this year. They talk about how he changed from conservative Kyle into the guy from 2019 who got everyone involved. They touch on his lack of high-scoring first halves and suggest that he is not quite as great as soon as the script ends. They then move to the special teams and how poorly they played before getting to the defense. They talk about how great the defense was once again and how specifically, Dre Greenlaw and Fred Warner were tackling machines and absolute run-stuffers. They talk about the defense scoring as many touchdowns as they have allowed over the past four weeks. Finally, they talk about the D-line stepping up despite injuries and how tragic the Emmanuel Moseley injury is.
Later, they talk about DeMeco Ryans and how these are probably the last 12 games of his career here as a DC because he will be hired away. They talk about how Charvarious Ward is maybe the best free agent accusation. Lastly, they get into the cloud hanging over the game. The injuries in this game were tragic, and the guys talk their various levels of concern without Moseley for the year, without Nick Bosa indefinitely, without Robbie Gould indefinitely, and Jimmie Ward out for a while. They talked about the turf in Carolina, and all give their opinions on whether or not turf should be allowed in NFL stadiums.
