The San Francisco 49ers dropped their record to 3-3 after a 28-14 loss against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. Today, Pro Football Focus released its grades from the game. Which Niners played well, and who has more work to do?

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk earned the highest overall grade of any offensive player in the game and the second-highest from either team (Falcons CB Darren Hall, 90.1). He finished the game with eight receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns on 11 targets. Sunday was the first time Aiyuk registered more than one touchdown in a single game.

While Pro Football Focus credits tight end George Kittle with nine targets, the official NFL statistics credit him with 10. Going by that, three 49ers players—Kittle, Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel (10)—had 10-or-more targets in the game.

Samuel finished the game with seven receptions for 79 yards, while Kittle earned eight catches for 83 yards. Samuel forced nine missed tackles after the catch. Nine. To put that in perspective, other than Cooper Kupp's 13, no receiver has more than nine for the entire season. Samuel leads the league with 20 missed tackles after the catch in 2022.

Before exiting Sunday's game with a calf injury, right tackle Mike McGlinchey earned his highest overall grade since Week 15 of the 2020 season (83.0). In addition, he did not allow a pressure. McGlinchey's run-blocking grade of 79.9 is a season-high, and his pass-blocking grade of 79.4 was his highest since Week 6 of the 2020 Season (79.8).


Daniel Brunskill replaced McGlinchey after the injury, playing 46 snaps and earning his highest grade since Week 11 last season (75.0).

Drake Jackson hadn't impressed anyone at Pro Football Focus until Sunday. The defensive end earned a career-high overall grade and the highest overall grade among his defensive teammates. He recorded his third sack of the season and has reached opposing quarterbacks in back-to-back games.

Jackson and linebacker Oren Burks earned the highest grades by 49ers defenders by a significant margin. Burks finished the game with six tackles and a stop, recording his highest overall grade since Week 3 of the 2020 season, when he was with the Green Bay Packers.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 29 of 41 attempts for 296 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. His 63.9 overall grade was his second lowest of the season (42.4 in Week 3).
