Defensive end Nick Bosa, tackle Trent Williams, and safety Jimmie Ward practiced on Wednesday. Bosa missed this past Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons due to a groin injury. Williams has not played or practiced since suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
Ward returned from injured reserve during Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers and suffered a broken hand on the opening kickoff.
"We're just going to see how it goes out there with his cast, and how he feels doing it, and what he can get away with, and be safe with, and still perform. So we'll see how it goes," head coach Kyle Shanahan responded when asked about Ward's chances of playing this weekend.
As expected, cornerback Jason Verrett returned to practice after a minor setback in his return from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. He does not appear on the list below because he is not on the active roster yet.
Two players who suffered injuries against the Falcons, cornerback Charvarius Ward and tackle Mike McGlinchey, were among those who did not practice. In addition, safety Talanoa Hufanga remains in the concussion protocol.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Chiefs, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
