"It's awkward, but I don't have any," Shanahan told reporters. "It's awesome."
Often, teams will learn about other injuries the day after a game. That wasn't the case for the 49ers this week, though.
"Still the same from the game," Shanahan told reporters via a conference call today. "No new injuries to report. We were good."
The 49ers are heading into their bye week. The team met this morning to review Sunday's game. Players will come into the facility tomorrow for a workout and a quick meeting. After that, they will be off until Monday.
"I think we need this bye week," Shanahan said. "We need to rest up a little bit and, hopefully, get some guys back. Right when we get it going a little bit, it's always tough to take some time off, but I do think we need it just for our health and stuff."
Shanahan and the 49ers expect to get several players back after the bye week. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (finger) did not play against the Rams. However, both are expected to return for the Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. In addition, defensive lineman Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (calf) could return.
"I'm optimistic about it," Shanahan said of Greenlaw potentially returning after the bye. "This week, if rehab goes real well, he'll have a good chance, but he's got to have a good week."
The 49ers have expected to get running back Elijah Mitchell (MCL sprain in Week 1) back after the bye. That remains the plan.
"We're pretty optimistic to get a number of guys back," Shanahan said. "... We are hoping that most of them will come back, and we feel pretty good about that, but they've got to have a good week here rehabbing, and we'll find out here when we get back for Monday."
Defensive end Jordan Willis has been on the injured reserve list since September 14 due to a knee injury. A reporter asked the coach if he could return in the second half of the season.
"I do believe his rehab's going well, and I believe we'll have an option to bring him back," Shanahan responded.
The 49ers already made a high-profile move ahead of tomorrow's trade deadline. The team acquired running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers on October 20. Shanahan feels the team is done making big moves but won't guarantee anything.
"I think we're pretty set, but we'll listen to a call on anybody," Shanahan said. "I mean, we're never not going to listen to people. I'd be surprised if anything goes down, but until the deadline, we're always listening."
Last week, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the 49ers were fielding calls from teams interested in Jeff Wilson Jr. Fowler believes the team is listening to offers for the running back.
