The San Francisco 49ers return to action this week to host the Los Angeles Chargers on NBC's Sunday Night Football. This matchup marks the 16th meeting all-time between the two teams and just the second time that the Chargers have visited Levi's Stadium in the regular season.

Before the team's bye week, the 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams, 31-14, at SoFi Stadium. In his second game with the team, RB Christian McCaffrey registered 183 all-purpose yards and was a part of three touchdowns, becoming the fourth player in NFL history to register at least one passing touchdown, one receiving touchdown, and one rushing touchdown in a single game. QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 21 of his 25 passing attempts for 235 yards and a passer rating of 132.5, including touchdown passes to McCaffrey and TE George Kittle. WR Brandon Aiyuk reeled in six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown catch from McCaffrey.

The 49ers defense held the Rams scoreless in the second half and allowed just 2.67 yards per rushing attempt. LB Fred Warner led the team with 12 tackles and split a sack with DL Nick Bosa on Rams QB Matthew Stafford. Bosa also got to Stafford to register his eighth solo sack of the season.

On special teams, K Robbie Gould moved to 11th on the all-time scoring list after hitting his only field goal attempt and converting on all four extra-point attempts. WR Ray-Ray McCloud III averaged 11.3 yards per punt return and 33.0 yards per kick return, including a long of 39 yards.
